#AluminiumPeople: Ahmet Fikret Yalmancı, Finance Manager Contital Turkey
In this interview, we have the pleasure of meeting Ahmet, the Finance Manager of Contital Turkey. With 15 years of experience in the financial sector, Ahmet manages a team of four and has been contributing to the company’s success with his dedication and expertise for about a year now.
In addition to sharing details about his current role, Ahmet tells us about his passions, his hopes for the future at Contital Turkey and his personal life. We find out what motivates him in his work, how he spends his free time and what advice he would give to his past self.
To begin with, tell us a little about yourself. What is your current role within the company?
My name is Ahmet and I am very happy to take part in this interview. I have been working as the Finance Manager for Contital Turkey for about a year and manage a team of four employees. I have been working in the financial sector for about 15 years. I am happily married and a father of a boy and a girl.
What do you like and what stimulates you most about your work?
I love my office: it is among the things that make me happiest and most motivated in my work at Contital Turkey. I enjoy having the opportunity to engage with colleagues from other affiliates, all over the world. I love them!
What are your hopes for your future in Contital Turkey?
I wish my company an increasingly efficient organizational structure with increased sales and production. I also add that I hope for a quick completion of SAP transition projects.
How would you describe yourself in three words?
Attentive to detail, friendly. Very hard-working.
What do you like to do in your spare time?
I spend most of my free time with my family. One of my favorite hobbies is playing billiards.
What is your favorite book/movie/series and why?
I would have different answers to this question: my favorite movie is MATRIX. My favorite cartoon Voltran is a cartoon series about a giant robot made for television in the 1980s. The full name is “Voltran: Guardian of the Universe.” I still watch it for the child in me who has not grown up.
If you could go back to the beginning of your career, what advice would you give yourself from the past?
If I had a time machine I would go back to when I started my career in my college days, I would say I could have become an engineer. I love engineering-related jobs.
Is there anything you would like to add to help us better understand who Ahmet is?
Family is very important to me, there is no difficulty that I would not overcome for my family.
