#AluminiumPeople: Lucia Gobbi, Supply Chain Manager i2r America
Lucia Gobbi has recently assumed the role of Supply Chain Manager at i2r North America. Her appointment marks an important milestone for the company, which relies on her experience and enthusiasm to optimize logistics and procurement processes.

To begin with, tell us a little about yourself. What is your current role within the company?
I was recently promoted to Supply Chain Manager at i2r North America. In this role, I focus on optimizing logistics and procurement processes to ensure that our supply chain runs efficiently and that customers receive their orders promptly.
What do you like and what stimulates you most about your job?
I love challenges and find it extremely stimulating to work in a dynamic environment like that of a start-up. The supply chain is crucial for the success of the company, and being able to strategically contribute to its efficiency and growth is truly rewarding. What excites me the most is the opportunity to innovate and continuously improve our processes, learning something new every day.
During your career within our Group, you have experienced a significant change: moving from Italy to Canada. How have you found this experience?
I have always been fascinated by travel, and Canada has always been on my list of places to visit. Moving here was a great opportunity for which I am very grateful to the Laminazione Sottile Group. Although being far from family and friends is not easy, this experience has allowed me to grow enormously both professionally and personally, learning to adapt to new cultures and environments.
What are your hopes for i2r Canada?
In the near future, my goal is to grow professionally together with i2r Canada, facing new challenges and contributing to the development of the company. I want to acquire advanced skills in managing an increasingly large and complex business, and I am excited about the learning and growth opportunities this role offers.
How would you describe yourself in three words?
Determined, curious, and resilient.
What do you love to do in your spare time?
I enjoy exploring nature, walking through city parks, or enjoying moments of tranquility at home with a good book or an exciting TV series.
What is your favorite book/movie/series and why?
My favorite book is “The Number Devil” by Hans Magnus Enzensberger. This book has a special meaning for me because it was given to me by my grandfather when I was a child. The story is fascinating and manages to make complex mathematical concepts accessible and fun. Through its pages, I began to discover my passion for numbers and mathematics, and every time I reread it, it reminds me of the importance of looking at things from different perspectives. Today, I realize that it is probably one of the books that has influenced my way of thinking and perhaps even my professional path.
