#AluminiumPeople: Vittoria Mele, Quality Engineer Contital

Determination, curiosity, and a contagious smile: these are the distinctive traits of Vittoria Mele, one of the most recent additions to the Contital team. A recent graduate in materials engineering, our Quality Engineer brings a breath of fresh air and enthusiasm to the daily management of company quality. In this interview, she tells us how she is tackling her first professional challenges, sharing not only her passion for continuous improvement and innovation but also her love for travel and literature. Her story is that of a young professional who has found in Contital the ideal dynamic environment to begin her growth journey, where each day brings new opportunities for learning and development.
To begin with, tell us a bit about yourself. What is your current role within the company?
I graduated in April with a degree in materials engineering and immediately took on the role of quality engineer at Contital. I handle the management of daily quality issues that impact raw materials and finished products; I collaborate with the production team to develop controls and continuous improvements, and I manage relationships with suppliers.
What do you like and find most stimulating about your work?
What I like most about my work is that every day there are new challenges to face: for a recent graduate like me, this is very stimulating because it allows me to constantly test myself. Moreover, daily contact with all my colleagues allows me to expand my knowledge and grow professionally.
What are your expectations at Contital?
Precisely because Contital has a stimulating, dynamic, and somewhat hectic environment, I expect significant growth, both professionally and personally, acquiring more and more skills and responsibilities.
How would you describe yourself in three words?
I would say determined, curious and smiling.
What do you love to do in your free time?
When I’m not at work, I love to relax, spending time with my family, friends, and my puppies. And then, when I can, I love organizing trips that allow me to disconnect from the usual routine and explore the world.
What is your favorite book/movie/series and why?
Several years ago, I became passionate about Elena Ferrante’s novel series My Brilliant Friend and lately about its television adaptation.
