Finstock & General Engineering: Team Work means success.
An important score for the Sales Department of Laminazione Sottile, which in the first half of 2017 recorded +21% in Finstock & General Engineering aluminium applications sector. We had a chat with the Team who reached this goal, composed by the senior accounts Giovanni Russo and Giancarlo Tortora, the brilliant Francesca Minadeo and the newcomer Francesco Coscione.
+ 21% in the first half of 2017 in Finstock & General Engineering: How do you achieve such an important result?
Tortora: With a great teamwork! Supporting our customers as much as possible. Because of the scale of this industry, we are committed to seeking new business opportunities and market niches, strengthen our relationship with existing customers, but also exploring markets like U.S.A., where are going to expand.
Minadeo: We supported our customers at our best, presenting ourselves to the new ones as reliable and high quality partner, and this helped us to convince them to choose our products.
Russo: It’s a result achieved through a steady presence on the market: we supply the largest Groups of the sector and this is the value we prospect to develop in a constant and lasting way.
What was the role of Team Working in this result?
Russo: Our team play, our close-knit way of working, definitely leads to operating benefits that are translated into value-added in terms of business profitability and daily work. It is really important that all information and data in our possession are shared in a quick, fast and effective way. We have access to detailed information and data, and this supports us in an unmatched manner.
strong>Tortora: We used teamwork, both within our own office, promoting the growth of younger resources, and supporting functions such as Quality and Logistics. After all, our score is the result of everyone.
Minadeo: Teamwork has been a primary element: being a very large sector, with different final applications, the dialogue within the team has proved to be essential, especially for younger accounts who have the possibility to collaborate with more experienced resources.
What are the future goals? What are the strategies for market expansion?
Tortora: The company’s future goals are those of a steady and strong growth and expansion. We must continue on this path and increase our efforts in seeking new areas of application, preferably market niches, and new customers in countries we are not currently exporting. There are very interesting markets outside Europe, such as the Middle and the Far East, but especially the North America.
Russo: Our goal is to continue to support our customers strengthening our relationship and developing new products: our R&D Department works steadily and this allows us to be more competitive and offer our customers interesting solutions for their business strategies. We are a really dynamic office that continually enriches itself with new young resources who are increasingly active in what is our business operation. Francesco Coscione, after an experience in the higher thickness rolled aluminium sector, has just joined our team and has already understood our vision and methodology of working.
Francesco, after a 6-month experience in the world of rolled products, how will you take on this new challenge?
Coscione: I’m positive and motivated! The knowledge gained in the high gauge sector is reaviling itself “transversal”. Let me explain: when it comes to a higher gauges, it is referred to more standardized products, technically less complex than Finstock but with similar logics. In the coming months, thanks to the side-by-side job with more experienced colleagues, I want to challenge myself and increase my knowledge.

Tortora: Reliability! Considering our investments and the growth prospects of our Group, we are certainly a reliable partner, in the present and the future.
