In recent years, in fact, people’s consumption and lifestyles have changed, leading to the emergence of new nutritional trends: ready meals and home meal kits are particularly in demand, resulting in an increase in the production of containers suitable for consumption outside the home or to order.

In addition to the production of food containers, aluminium foils are also used in the flexible market for the production of pouches for drinks, animal feed, personal and home hygiene and care. The pharmaceutical sector also makes extensive use of aluminium foil for the production of blisters. Aluminium, in fact, is a material that can resist high and low temperatures protecting medicines from external agents that could damage or alter them.

Analyzing the market trends of recent years, we can state that the demand for aluminium foil has grown significantly, especially in the Asian area thanks to the packaging sector for both domestic and industrial use. Nonetheless, it is expected that, in the next year, there will also be significant growth in North America which, unlike the Asian market, will see the production of batteries for electric vehicles as the driving sector. A similar scenario will occur in Europe, where the demand for aluminium foil will increase significantly as a consequence of the growing development of the food packaging market.
