i2r Packaging Solutions wins a Queen’s Award for Enterprise twice

Laminazione Sottile Group is glad to announce that i2r Packaging Solutions, an English subsidiary belonging to the Containers division, has been awarded the Queen’s Award for Enterprise for the second time, in the category “Innovation”.  The company had already obtained the prestigious award in 2020, in the “International Trade” class.

i2r Packaging Solutions has obtained the recognition for the realization of the patented i2r Ultra range: extra-rigid aluminum containers more resistant and lighter than the standard Smoothwalls already widely used for ready meals. The design is characterized by a particular ribbing that increases the resistance of the tray to stress, allowing at the same time to reduce the raw material and therefore the weight, cost and environmental impact of the product.

“We are very satisfied with this recognition, that represents a point of reference for companies in the United Kingdom and an important certificate of quality for our productions – said Luca Moschini, CEO of the Group –. In particular, we are proud that the value and commitment of the R&D department, which is fundamental for the growth of the company and of the entire Group, has been recognized. In fact, we have always aimed to contribute to the development of our reference market, introducing innovative, performing and sustainable solutions “.
