Industry 4.0. Analysis by Luca Moschini at the Naples Industrial Union
Luca Moschini, CEO of Laminazione Sottile and Head of Manufacturing Development, Innovation, Research, and Competitiveness for the Naples Industrial Union, spoke at the conference “Industry 4.0. The New Industrial Revolution”, an event organized to mark the centenary of Unindustria Napoli.
The CEO highlighted how digital transformation is playing a key role in all processes along the industrial supply chain:
“Digital technology enables the integration of all components of the value chain and provides detailed and refined knowledge of all processes, both inside and outside the factory. This enables full integration of the production component with all other processes, from new product design to consumer behavior insights.”
The CEO also highlighted the transformation of the worker themselves, who, in a world increasingly removed from vertical logic and more interconnected, becomes the “brain behind the work” rather than the manual laborer: companies will question the skills of their employees rather than simply their cost.
Concluding his remarks, the CEO of Laminazione Sottile described the essential role played by synergy with local universities:
“Over the years, our Group has consolidated strong ties with the university world. This intense collaboration translates into, to name a few, research projects on nanotechnology, on reducing the environmental impact and energy consumption of our production processes, and on new materials. We also promote training internships for graduate students and support experimental theses.”
Young people, therefore, are the future. A future in which commitment, professionalism, and ethics will be synonymous with growth.
